Description

Article in the New Brunswick newspaper Sunday Times about the Heritage Award presented to Emma Andrews and Evelyn Sermons by the Associate Alumnae of the New Jersey College for Women (later Douglass College). 

The article contains a photograph of the two African American students receiving their award pins from the alumnae. The caption below the photograph reads: "Heritage Awards are presented to two New Jersey College for Women seniors at Reunion Day luncheon in recognition of their furtherance of interracial understanding. Left to right are, Miss Evelyn Sermons, Somerville, Mrs. O. Wesley Davidson, Associate Alumnae president, Miss Emma Andrews, Plainfield, and Miss Marianne Schmidt, reunion toastmistress."
