Description
School of Education Commencement Program for June 8, 1933. The last page of the program indicates that the degree of Doctor of Education was conferred on Egerton Elliot Hall. Hall was the sole recipient of this degree in 1933. He is the first known African American man to receive a doctorate from Rutgers University.
The year 1933 was the first time that the School of Education held its own commencement ceremony separate from other Rutgers University schools. The attached file is a 7-page PDF of the complete program.
