Title
FOR SALE, A NEGRO MAN, slave for life...likewise his son
Description
A slaveholder in the New Brunswick area seeks to sell a black man, aged 30, who is a slave for life, and the man's son, who is 7 or 8 years old. The slaveholder is not named in the ad, and the prospective buyers are asked to apply for more information to the printer of the local newspaper Guardian, or, New Brunswick Advertiser. This newspaper was published by Abraham Blauvelt (Queen's College graduate, class of 1789, and long-time college trustee) who regularly facilitated slave sales for his subscribers.
