Description

A master in the New Brunswick area seeks to sell 2 years of a black girl's labor. The girl is 16 years old and is an indentured servant with 2 years left on her indenture term. The seller is not named in the ad, and the prospective buyers are asked to apply for more information to the printer of the local newspaper Guardian, or, New Brunswick Advertiser. This newspaper was published by Abraham Blauvelt (Queen's College graduate, class of 1789, and long-time college trustee) who regularly facilitated transactions for his subscribers.

THE time of an indented NEGRO GIRL, about sixteen years of age—She is smart and active, and understands house work perfectly well—she has about two years yet to serve and is not sold for any particular fault.
