Description

On September 28, 1808, Abraham Blauvelt recorded a payment for $5.60 to Jacob Dunham “for labor of his negro.” This payment was for "foundation" work.

This is entry number 15 on page 1 of Blauvelt's account book. Blauvelt was the chairman of the Building Committee and recorded the expenses paid for the construction of the college's first permanent building, now known as Old Queens Building.
